Recently, one of my team members at Not So New Job has had her world rocked in ways that I still cannot believe.
On Thursday, February 8th, her father-in-law died, unexpectedly. Two days later, her ten year old son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The family is now in Denver for what will be a long course of treatment, and they didn't even have the chance to properly mourn their loss.
I have faith that the treatment will be successful, but, while he is in treatment, life back home must still go on. The family also has an eight year old son, who is currently staying with his grandparents, as well as several dogs and a handful of chickens. Our work team is working with other friends and family to make sure that the all of their needs are covered, as well as making sure that there is a plan in place for financial assistance for the family.
It's a tough time, but we will all get them through it. If you are the praying type, I would ask for prayers for Jeremy and for his family. Cancer is an asshole. That is all.
Oh my word. I am so sorry to hear this. This is so sad. Sending so many prayers for this family.
