This week's Friday Favorites are heavy on moments from the wedding, which probably comes as no surprise since I've mentioned that we finally got the wedding pictures back.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when I had the privilege of walking the Man-Cub down the aisle. Or, he walked me down the aisle, I guess. Either way, we made it down the aisle with a minimum of tears.
For
me, I mean; the Cub was tearing up from the moment we started our walk. Luckily, I made sure to carry tissues. Not only did I not cry, but, apparently I was beaming with happiness down that aisle so much so; Bethany told me later that day that, if she didn't look that happy walking her boys down the aisle, she doesn't want it. I thought that was such a sweet thing to say to me.
Believe it or not, I also refrained from crying during our Mother-Son dance, which was a complete surprise to everyone, including myself.
Hands down, the most favorite part of the day was having so many people that we love all together under one tent. And, one of the most special moments of the day was the moment that the Cub realized that his college roommate and his girlfriend had made it to the wedding, all the way from California.
The Cub hadn't seen Noah since he graduated a year ahead of the Cub in 2020, but they have maintained their friendship, which is such a special thing.
I know this, because my most cherished friends were also present, and, I don't think there is anything in this world quite as special as knowing that your best friends love your children like they are their own.
The pictures of The Girls with the kids at the wedding warm my heart.
And, that's it for today's Favorites. Barring any emergency calls from Not So New Job, I plan to tackle my closet; it is in need of a purge and today seems like a great day to handle it.
Not exactly a favorite, but a necessary evil.
