Christmas Chronicles: Christmas Day

Christmas day went by in a blur of presents, food, and family. I decided to do pajamas again this year, after taking a break last year (and giving everyone a fuzzy blanket on Christmas Eve), and the family humored me by professing to love them. I mean, honestly, how many Christmas pj's does one person really need?  I might have to come up with something new next year.

As the kids have become adults, it has gotten harder and harder to shop for them for Christmas, but I think I did a pretty good job this year. Queen B got a pair of massaging, heated/cooled eye goggles with bluetooth music. They are meant to help with migraines and relaxation in general. I got a pair for myself, as well, and am hoping that I like them.

Once we cleaned up the last piece of wrapping paper, it was time for me to chain myself to the kitchen. I had a 22 pound turkey this year and it was so big, it didn't fit in my roaster, which meant lifting it into and out of the oven. Good thing I'm relatively strong.

This year, we had almost our entire extended family with us for the holiday, including my nieces, nephews, and sister, Barbie. Mom really wanted a picture of her with all of her grandkids and great grandaughter, so we made sure to make that happen.

We made sure Oscar and Emily also posed for pictures. You never know how long you have with the people you love, so it's important to document the memories you make together. I feel so blessed to have had this Christmas to do exactly that, even if I was worn down and exhausted by the end of the day.

Worth it.
