Yesterday, Queen B, Mom, Hugh's brother's girlfriend, Nicole and I joined Shanti, her mom, two of her cousins, her sister, and one of the bridesmaids (Miss Frankie was called in to work and had to miss the fun, boo!) for a trip to the nursery in Pixler. Our mission was to gather flowers from the cut-your-own garden to use in the centerpieces for the wedding on Saturday. We also planned to eat lunch and to just enjoy the day and the company for a bit before things get too chaotic over the next two days.
It was a good call.
Although Shanti's mom had called ahead to let them know to expect a large group; the nursery was out of the jars that they use for the cut-your-own bouquets, so; we decided to eat lunch first, and to pick the flowers once the manager returned with the mason jars.
That actually ended up being a good thing, because it allowed some time for some cloud cover to roll into the area, which made the time in the garden more comfortable.
We spent less than a half hour in the garden and managed to gather most of the flowers that we will need.
This morning, I am harvesting from my garden and then heading out to Shanti's mom's place to work on the centerpieces. Then, I will be spending the rest of the day working on the rehearsal dinner.
Hugh set up the tent at Oscar and Emily's yesterday, and we got the farm table set up under it. It looks amazing and I cannot wait to get it all decked out! I do have some concerns about the weather; thunderstorms are in the forecast for this evening, but I am going with the flow and counting on the good Lord to see me through.
It's going to be a great day!
Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for you!!
