What day is it? I'm back at Not So New Job, so it must be Wednesday, which means we made it through the wedding and survived to tell the tale.
Actually, we did much better than survive; we thrived! The days leading up to the actual vows were every bit as fun and exciting as the wedding itself, and I don't want to forget a tiny detail (which is why I'm struggling to remember what day it is; my brain is full!). So, I'm breaking the weekend down into several posts. I do hope you'll bear with me, because, much like my Aunt Erma vacation posts of yore; this is going to be a long ride.
You've been both invited to jump on, and warned.
Soooo...we left off with a post from our flower picking excursion last Thursday, and, will pick up the following day, when we gathered together to turn the flowers into the centerpieces and other various arrangements that made up the decor for the reception.
None of us can claim to be professional floral designers, but I think we did a really good job, and I was excited to add some of the flowers from my garden to the mix.
And, it was really nice to finally put all of the milk glass vases that Shanti's mom and I had been collecting to good use.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to help with the wedding; I know that the mother of the groom doesn't always get that honor and I am so grateful to Shanti's mom for always including me. She and I now share a love for milk glass and we each have a small collection that we have bonded over, which was a happy little bonus from this whole process.
Up next: the rehearsal dinner!
