Another Post About Birds

This blog is becoming a tribute to my new avian friends, I swear. In my defense, I have no idea how much longer the Herons will be in the area, so, I'm taking full advantage of each and every opportunity I get to photograph them while they are here.

The other night, after Boomer and I finished our walk around the park, we hunkered down near the ponds and simply waited for the birds to hit the fish buffet. It took about ten minutes for them to make their appearance, and, I was thisclose to catching the moment when one of them caught a fish, when, a woman making her way around the park arrived to scare them off.

Le sigh.

I did catch the moment the bird flew away, which, had to do for the evening.

I am planning to head back to the park this evening, and, this time, the Man-Cub will be joining me. Hopefully, between the two of us, we will be able to get some really great shots.

Speaking of the Man-Cub; he and his girlfriend made homemade onion rings for us the other night. Hugh grilled steaks and shrimp to go with them; it was a great dinner and we really enjoyed having the kids in the kitchen. Hopefully, there will be many more nights like that as summer arrives.
