Welcome, Friday! Good to see you! This week was the first week in about a month that I was in the office for the full four-day workweek, and it sorta kicked my ass. I fear I have become soft.
I have the weekend to recover, and I plan to get in some quality relaxation; I do believe I'll start by drinking a glass (or two) of wine this evening while Hugh and I watch Christmas movies. It's my goal to watch every one of my favorites this season; so far, we have seen Frosty the Snowman, Charles Dicken's Christmas Carol, and Love, Actually. Tonight, we'll watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, as it makes its return to network television on NBC.
Thanks to the advent calendar my staff got me for my birthday, I have a fabulous selection of wines to choose from for the night. So far, I have unboxed four reds and two whites. I drank the first red the night I opened it, and it was delicious. We're having chicken taco bowls for dinner, so I think I'll try another one tonight.
This calendar continues to be a favorite.
While I'm sipping my wine and enjoying the show, I'll also be admiring the new vintage Santa doll that I just added to my collection. Did I need another vintage stuffed Santa? As you well know, I did not. I'm pretty sure you also know that I have zero regrets about the purchase.
He's freaking adorable, y'all! And he is smoking a pipe! I can't stand the utter adorableness.
Next up on today's list is the vintage aluminum tree that I found on Mercari.
I'll have better photos of it for the annual Holiday House Tour post, but I couldn't resist bragging about it today. I decorated it with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments and displayed it in my silver ice bucket, with additional Shiny Brites on a silver tray. It's probably my favorite display ever.
Lastly, today, my Board of Directors treated the staff and me to lunch at the Country Club. It's become an annual event and one we look forward to. We took the opportunity to snap a staff picture that we will use on the Christmas card that we send to our partnering agencies.
It's not every day that we get to dress up, so I took advantage of it by wearing one of my velvet shirts. The deep red color is a favorite- so much so, that I matched it pretty closely on my toes with OPI
In My Santa Suit, which happens to also be a seasonal favorite.
And, that's it for today's favorites.
