Happy Friday! This isn't just the last Friday Favorites post of December, it's the final one for the year. I've said it a lot this year, but I'll say it again; I can't believe how fast the year has gone by.
I'll start today's post by finishing the wine advent calendar pics. This week, I got the only duplicate in the box: the rose. I wasn't mad about it. The final bottle in the calendar was prosecco, which was fitting.
I haven't started sampling the wines yet, but will definitely write about my favorites at some point, probably in the new year.
The whole experience has been a lot of fun and I highly recommend a wine advent calendar for the wine lovers in your life.
I haven't written an official Christmas post, but I'll share photos from Christmas morning. I was so busy in the kitchen the rest of the day that I didn't get a chance to take family pictures or pictures of Shanti's folks, who also celebrated with us.
It was a really good day, and I'm not upset about missing out on pictures; it won't prevent me from remembering how much everyone enjoyed the food and company.
Of course, there were presents, and while gifts are generally the thing we remember least about the holidays, I will remember the gift the Man-Cub and Shanti gave us because I gave them the same thing! Not the exact same thing, but the idea was identical. Great minds think alike, and we all loved these photo books of wedding pictures.
I won an eBay auction for a vintage ceramic Christmas tree earlier this month. I was so excited to add it to my rapidly growing collection of vintage Christmas decor, but I was devastated when it arrived broken, despite some truly impressive wrapping and packaging.
Hugh assured me that he could fix it, but then he left for a week for a wrestling tournament in Delaware, spent numerous days at the fire station, and never got around to fixing it.
Well, Queen B to the rescue! Last night, she set aside the Christmas puzzle she was working on and tackled the puzzle of repairing the tree.
She did a great job! I need to get a small bottle of green paint to go over some of the chips in the seams where the ceramic crumbled, but otherwise, it is going to look almost as good as new—or as new as an almost forty-year-old tee can look.
My heart is full.
