Friday Favorites, December Edition #3

I can't believe it's the last Friday before Christmas! We were just in Texas celebrating Thanksgiving yesterday! And Queen B will be arriving from Texas today to spend the holiday with us. Time flies! Having her home is a favorite for sure!

Another favorite this week was our staff Christmas party. We decided to try the bar in the new boutique hotel in Hooterville for our celebration, and it was a great choice! The drinks were tasty, and the food was delicious. The hotel chef uses locally sourced meats, cheese, and produce on his charcuterie board and veggie and hummus plates. The experience was on the pricey side, but that is to be expected from a boutique hotel bar.

My wine advent calendar continues to delight me. Since I started opening those little doors, I think I've pulled out just about every type of wine in existence. I'm looking forward to trying some of the varietals that I've never had before, including the Viognier.

Since I'm in the holiday spirit, I will share the tumbler I've been drinking water from lately. It's really cute, and it keeps my ice cubes frozen for hours. I need to consume more water daily, and this tumbler has helped with that. I always said I would never be a "Stanley Girl", and I'm not; my tumblers are never ridiculously priced, and I don't need one in every color (no shade to the Stanley Girls out there, just keeping it real).

Well, I need to get busy with some last minute chores before I pick Queen B up at the airport. We have the annual Coctail Contest tonight and I still need to pick up a few groceries for the taco bar I am planning. The contest is kicking off a festive weekend that is going to include the Garden of Lights at the local botanic gardens, as well as our annual cookie decorating get-together.

Spending time with friends and family is always a favorite, as you know 😊
