In Her Auntie Era

I picked Queen B up at the airport Friday at noon, and we came straight home to start preparing for our annual cocktail contest.

We were expecting a houseful, including Queen B's bestie and her family, who traveled from a city several hours away. Queen B usually travels to see them when she is home, and this was the first time that they had been able to come to see her.

We were also expecting our girl Katie, her little family, and Miss Mia and her small tribe.

Queen B stood up for these ladies at their weddings and has been a constant presence in their lives, so it is no surprise that each of their children regards her as "Auntie B."

What better way to honor Auntie B than a mini photo shoot of her and the littles?

I hope that one day, Queen B will find her way to her own little family and that each of these kiddos will become friends with my grandchildren. In the meantime, I'm so thankful for the ladies who continue to show up for her. I know quite well how powerful long-lasting friendships are, and I'm thrilled that Queen B has had the chance to experience them, too.
