Lent officially ended on Saturday at noon. Since then, I have passed up the opportunity to eat chocolate in its various forms, as well as other types of candy, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other sweet items.
I have also refrained from returning to the loving embrace of Diet Pepsi. Why? Because I'm not so sure that sugar and Diet Pepsi are good for me. I know, right? Like, I just got that memo? But, better late than never, right?
So, I'm not saying that I am never going to eat another candy bar or have a fountain drink in a restaurant, but, I am planning to save those indulgences for special occasions and treats, kind of the way they were probably intended to be all along.
Old dog, new tricks. Who would have thought?
