...in that weird no-man's land between Christmas and New Years; where days are disordered, the charm of the Christmas lights is rapidly diminishing, and thoughts of resolutions roll about in our brains.
I might as well have taken the week off from Day Job; the place was a ghost town, and, I didn't want to start any large projects when I was just going to be off for another long four-day weekend (Day Job closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Year's Eve, and New Years day this year).
At home, I debated the merits of taking down all of the decorations, to make way for a fresh start on January 1st; finally opting to take down everything but the trees and the porch decorations, which, will happen the afternoon of the 1st.
I kind of like the way the house looks with just the tree in the living room; I should plan on just doing that next Christmas. Wait. Don't I say something similar to that every year? I'm sure I do.
Today, I will head to the hardware store to try and get the year-end paperwork underway; I'm farther along than I usually am by this time, but, nowhere near where I would be if I made an effort to keep up more throughout the year. Maybe that will be my goal for 2019; to keep up with the monthly financials at the store. Again, don't I say that every year?
Perhaps my resolutions for 2019 should include actually doing what I tell myself I should do.
Yeahhhh...I think I say that every year.
Well. At least I am consistent.
