Preparing to Hit the Road

We leave for Las Vegas today for the wedding that I will be photographing. I always get a little anal about leaving my home on trips that involve the whole family because I worry about the house in our absence. And, about the cats. And, the dog. And, my garden....you get it.

This time, Mikey will be watching over everything, which, does make me feel better, but, I still get obsessive about making sure that the house is ship-shape and airtight, regardless.

I also get a little compulsive about the car that we will be traveling in; this week, I have had the tires rotated, the brakes checked, the oil changed, the exterior washed, and the interior wiped down and swept out.

I'm not even going to go into how long it took me to pack; suffice it to say that there were lists involved. Multiple lists.

I really need to relax.

We all know that's not going to happen, right?

Well, at least I'll have fun; it's possible to do that even when one is compulsively checking off the to-do list involving wedding photography in one's head.

Or, so I've heard.
