That's a Wrap

Thursday afternoon, I clocked out of Day Job; I won't be returning until after Christmas, and, truth be told, the break doesn't come a moment too soon. I'm burnt like toast, y'all.

Wednesday night, we hosted our annual holiday gathering for clients and that alone kicked my ass. Co-worker Erin and I spent the majority of the day running around picking up food and other supplies, decorating, and preparing game stations and gift tables, and, by the time we were ready to welcome the first guests, my dogs were barking. And, people, I wasn't even on the party committee this year; I just saw that my friend needed support.

Luckily, I wasn't the only one; the majority of our staff came out in full force to help with the event, and, we posed for a dysfunctional family photo to prove it.

I was wiped out by the end of the evening, but, I had a hard time falling asleep because I was so excited about the Cub coming home the following day, which, he did!

I picked him up at the airport at 9:00, took him home, wrapped him in blankets, handed him a hot cocoa, and made it back to the office to wrap things up for the week.

And, since wrapping is the theme of this here post, yesterday, I finally started wrapping presents for Christmas. Granted, I am still woefully behind, but, it was a start!

The Man-Cub and I are planning to finish my Christmas shopping this weekend, before loading up the car and heading to Mayberry on Monday morning (Hugh is in Delaware, at a wrestling tournament; he and Queen B will join us in Mayberry on Tuesday). I am so looking forward to spending a relaxing week with my Mom, sister, nieces, nephews, and Hugh and the kids! We have so much fun stuff planned, as well as just simply being together.

And, you know, no Day Job!! Best Christmas present, ever.
