They had a very good time, playing in the yard, chasing each other, and, engaging in an adorable game of Leap Frog, which, I didn't even know dogs knew how to play Leap Frog, but, they do; you heard it here, first.
Once they were completely worn out, they napped for a bit before we loaded them up in my Tahoe and headed downtown for Petticoat Junction's annual Parade of Lights, where, one of them, and I'm not saying which (Boomer Dog. It was totally Boomer Dog), got in big trouble for stealing Christmas cookies from some poor child's stroller.
One of us is innocent...one of us, is not.
Not even kidding.Luckily, the little thief has a cute face and was forgiven almost immediately. Almost.
See? Cute face....equals forgiveness
As usual, the parade was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it affair, but, we spent a good deal of time visiting with the staff from the hardware store, catching up with folks we haven't seen in ages (the kids' pre-school teacher, who can't believe how grown up my babies are...me either, Miss Leatha, me either), and listening to the school choir sing carols.
Then, we went back to the house for creamy tortellini soup. Queen B wanted a quick photo with The Cookie Thief, which I was happy to provide.
Her new "big girl" job agrees with her, obviously. And, I'm so happy I got to spend time with her today.
We have big plans for a lot of family time at Christmas, and this was a great warm-up to that celebration.
Only twelve more days!
