It's All Fun and Games Until Grandma Cracks a Rib

So, Chelle, how did those baseball games go? Thanks for asking! I had completely forgotten to write a post whining about our eventual loss. As it was, the weather finally cooperated enough to allow the games to be played on Monday. The boys lost a heartbreaker of a game, 3-6, effectively ending the season. It was a bummer for the seniors, to be sure.

On the bright side, the Man-Cub still has two years to play ball (God willing and the creek don't rise), so he bounced back fairly quickly from the disappointment. He is now focusing on his studies, as the school year draws to a merciful close.

Speaking of merciful endings, while watching the games on Monday, my mom reached down to retrieve her iced tea and managed to injure her right side. She said she felt a "crunch" and was experiencing significant pain in her ribs. The pain persisted throughout her drive home that day, and, yesterday, she went to the doctor for an x-ray. Happily, the results indicated a pulled muscle, rather than a broken rib, so, my track record for not breaking my parents in half when they visit my home stands, unchallenged.

Whew.

In other news of merciful endings, Katie and The Teenager are home and safely ensconced in their summer digs. The Teenager ended the year with a 2.7 GPA, which, while far from her ideal GPA, was good enough to spare her from academic probation at her new school. We'll take it.
