This Is the Pits, But, In a Good Way

I have spent the better part of the day puttering in the garden; I rescued my zucchini plant from certain death by squashing a squash bug before it could lay its' eggs, I harvested enough cucumbers for a small salad, and I splashed, barefoot, in the puddles created when I flooded the rows, rather than watering with the sprinkler.

I had forgotten how good mud feels when it squishes between your toes.

The next better part of the day has been spent reading and eating local cherries...

which... is pretty much the way I wanted a lazy summer day to go.

Later this evening, I plan to throw together a huge bowl of mock Caprese salad and a mozzarella and tomato Panini, which I will enjoy with a glass of wine on the porch. I'll probably end the meal with more cherries and a soak in a nice bath.

See? I can do lazy.

And, today, I'm doing lazy, so help me, God.
