30 Days of Gratitude, Day One

It's November, the time for remembering our blessings and for expressing our gratitude for the things for which we are most thankful. A number of years ago, I challenged myself to spend the entire month writing about the things that I was grateful for on this blog; it was a great exercise and one that I feel the need to attempt again this year.

So, for today, Day One, I am thankful simply for the fact that it is November. October was hard on me and mine, and, I'm not sad to see it go. I'm looking forward to a fresh start to what I am hoping is a much better month (Please don't smite me for my hubris, Universe).

Since October is officially over, I spent the last hour dismantling our Halloween display, and, since we live on a fairly busy road; I attracted quite a bit of attention as I was stripping the pirate garb from the skeletons, which, I mean, come on, people! Nothing to see here, just a girl, standing in her yard, molesting a skeleton. Move along.

Anyhoodle, the skeletons are now neatly folded on the front porch, awaiting their return trip to the attic, sometime tomorrow. Which, means that it's time to bust out the Thanksgiving decorations and to decorate the porch in all her autumn glory.

And, I'm totally grateful for having the opportunity to do it.
