It's hard to believe that it is already Sunday evening, but, a new episode of The Walking Dead is on, so it must be. What have we been up to this weekend?
-Friday was a long day at work for me; I attended a training at the local office of the department of social services. By the time I was done, I was mentally fried and in no headspace to cook dinner. The Man-Cub was away on a basketball trip so Hugh and I went to Pixler for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I had the pollo asado and it was delicious. It was also served on a plate the size of a man-hole cover, but that is probably not important.
-Saturday I slept in, which was a welcome treat after having waited up for the Cub until 1:30 in the morning, when he returned from his basketball game. I spent the morning puttering around the house before getting ready to attend the Cub's next basketball game. The game was a total blow-out for our boys, but, I am really enjoying watching the Cub develop skills and aggressiveness; he has really blossomed into a great competitor. After the game, I ran into Hooterville to pick up groceries and to have my feet pampered at the Korean nail place. I am now sporting a lovely pedicure featuring a fabulous OPI shade of purple with a gorgeous white and pink flower (or, frower, as the nail tech referred to it). Once I got home, I made a quick dinner for Hugh and the Cub and we settled in to watch Gone Girl on the satellite. I enjoyed the movie, which didn't surprise me, since I had enjoyed the book.
-Today, I have spent my time doing laundry, working at the hardware store, and, if I'm being totally honest, napping. I guess I can't complain about the weekend going by so quickly if I continue to insist on sleeping away a good portion of it, now, can I?
