Friday Favorites: Local Blooms Edition

It's Friday, again! Although, since I only worked three days this week, I guess I shouldn't be quite as excited about it's arrival as I am; I wonder what that says about my waning affection for Day Job?

No, actually, I don't wonder at all.

Anyhoodle, on to the favorites!

It's August already, which, in our neck of the woods, means frequent afternoon rain showers, slightly cooler temperatures, and, fields of sunflowers in full bloom.

I love the sunflowers-they are such a happy flower, and, I love how their faces follow the sun across the sky as the day goes by.

My own sunflowers are coming along nicely as well. I planted Mammoth Sunflower seeds and the plants are living up to their name; they now stand over ten feet tall. I am a little disappointed in the size of the actual sunflower heads, but, they still have several months to grow yet.

Since I'm on the topic of flowers, I recently purchased a flower subscription from a local grower. Every week, I pick up a new bouquet at the local Farmer's Market, and, the flowers are always fresh and unique (dependent on what is blooming at the time). The flowers are gorgeous, and, I love that I am supporting a local business.

Speaking of supporting local businesses, it's about time for me to get my ass to the hardware store, so, I'll wrap this up.

Happy Friday!
