September Bucket List

Today is my dad's birthday. I am determined to live as positive a life as possible, in honor of his memory.

Since I've never been great at sticking to a task without a list, here is one for September.

-Make the perfect risotto.

-Say something nice about someone every day.

-Say something nice TO someone everyday.

-Help The Teenager make a comfortable and safe new home.

-Help with a football team dinner.

-Take pictures that make me happy.

-Take pictures that make someone else happy.

-Send summer off in style.

-Embrace fall by decorating the house and porch.

-Cook a big pot of butternut squash soup.

-Go to the gynecologist to make sure I am a normal, hormonal mess and not an abnormal mess of some nature. You know, any more so  than usual.

Here's a risotto for you: Butternut squash, pancetta and saffron. I think this: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/butternut-squash-risotto-recipe.html is what the spousal unit and I cook. I could literally eat the entire batch if left alone with it for a couple of minutes.

    Now I can't wait for the squash to ripen . . .
