Throwback Thursday: A Swahbuckling Halloween

The year was 2007. The Teenager was thisclose to becoming an surly teen but was still willing to observe the family tradition of costumes on Halloween. The Man-Cub was exploring his own style of independence and the writing was on the wall; mom wasn't in charge of costumes, anymore.

Thankfully, both kids picked out age-appropriate, non-skin baring costumes suitable for their respective classroom parties.

They were also freaking adorable, if, a bit, um...salty.

And, what naturally happens when you give a kid a sword?

Swordfight!

I miss the days when they were so easily entertained. And, you know, when they were available to entertain me.

Hmmm...I wonder if I could convince them to re-create this experience...I think I still have the costumes...nah, they would never fit.

Oh well, thanks for the memories, kids!
